  • NEWS: New Appointments in City Hall

    On Nov. 23, during the meetings of the Glen Cove Community Development Agency, (CDA), and the City Council staffing changes were announced by Mayor Thomas Suozzi. Effective Dec. 1, the new executive director of the CDA is attorney Rosemary Olsen. She was appointed by the mayor to replace Robert Benrubi and is the third person to take the CDA helm under the current administration. Mr. Benrubi is joining the law firm of Crowe, Deegan and Dickson as a partner. FULL STORY

  • NEWS: Anthony D. Galluccio Dies in Car Accident

    On the morning of Nov. 26, life-long Glen Cove resident Anthony Galluccio, 63, died in a car accident on Glen Cove Road in Old Westbury. Mr. Galluccio was on his way to work in Garden City when, according to Nassau County Police, his car struck a van and a UPS van. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: Glen Cove Cardinals Are Long Island Champions

    The Glen Cove Cardinal Midgets placed an exclamation point on their perfect 12-0 season with a rousing 25-7 victory over the West Babylon Raiders. With their opponents putting up stiff opposition, the Midgets stood tall and tough holding back the Raiders with stubborn defense and an unstoppable offensive attack. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: North Shore's Fall Season Athletes Honored

    North Shore's fall season athletes and their families gathered in the high school theater in mid-November for the presentation of awards. The largely successful season saw both men's and women's soccer in post-season play, going to the first round of the playoffs, and the women's field hockey team playing post-season as well. The cross-country team competed in the state meet. Football ended the season at the break even point, 4-4. Highlighting individual athletes, two varsity field hockey players earned the All-County designation: Lauren Foundos and Elizabeth Savino. FULL STORY
