Robert Emmet Mitchell III, of Everson, WA, formerly of Glen Cove, died on Nov. 6, 1999. Born in Rockville Centre, he was a salesman for Credit Card Center, Scottsdale, AZ. Son of Dorothy and the late Robert. Father of Maggie and Sara. Brother of Noreen Bergesen (Robert), Kelly Denton (Glenn), Katherine and Nancy Mitchell. Uncle of Sean and Erik Bergesen. John F. "Davo" Carll, of Glenwood Landing formerly of Glen Cove, died on Nov. 7, 1999. He was a caddy for the Creek Club in Locust Valley. Longtime companion of Barbara Brown. Brother of Jim. He will be missed by Kelli and Shawn Brown. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Interment private.

Mamie Lee Franklin Head died at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ, on Nov. 8, 1999. Mamie Head lived to be 75 years old. She worked at Data Master in Glen Cove as an electrical wiring specialist, at Grant's department store as a sales manager and at Glen Cove Community Hospital as a dietitican. Mamie Head lived in Glen Cove for approximately 50 years (from 1942 until 1994), then moved to a retirement community in Toms River in her later years.

Mamie Head was born in Aiken, SC on July 25, 1924. She moved to Bryn Mawr, PA as a child, then to Glen Cove in her teens. In 1942, she married the William H. Head Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Billy of California, Johnny of New Jersey, Bobby of New York, Deborah of New York, Leatrice of Virginia and Chester of California; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one aunt (Olive Rose Mitchell of Delaware); and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

Services will be held at the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, 26 Franklin Ave., Glen Cove on Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.
