City Council to Study Service Award Programs
The Glen Cove City Council met on June 22 and in addressing regular agenda items the long, tortured story related to Ernalex Construction's quest to build on the hillside in the Uplands, (The Glen), neighborhood came to an end. The city council voted unanimously to re-purchase the property owned by Ernalex for $600,000 and authorized Mayor Thomas Suozzi to enter into a stipulation of settlement which discontinues all pending litigation between Ernalex Construction and the city, its boards and agencies.

Cove GOP Committee Echoes Court Victory
This week, the Glen Cove Republican City Committee savored a second court victory as the judges of the Second Appellate Division of the State of New York unanimously denied the appeal of the Glengariff Corporation and its CEO, Michael Miness to recover damages from the committee for defamation. The court also declined to award damages to the GOP committee.

Glen Cove Cobras Third Division Leaders
The Glen Cove Cobras started their fifth year in the Long Island Senior Softball Association Third Division with a bang. Winning their first five doubleheaders against teams in their own division, they jumped off to a commanding lead over their nearest rival. The Cobras split their next two doubleheaders against their own division before playing 8 teams in the second division, a stronger group.
