The plans for the World War II Memorial have been completed and a site has been chosen in Washington, D.C. The cost of this long-awaited memorial is $100 million, havf of which has already been raised.
I have been asked as a charter member of the Commission of World War II Memorial to inform the Glen Cove community that our goal of $156,700 has been set in our campaign to help establish the memorial. Presently, similar goals in other cities, towns and villages across the United States are being implemented.
The memorial is a long overdue remembrance of all those valiant men and women who served, fought and gave their lives to protect our freedom in this, the greatest victory in history. It needs your support. Please give as generously as you can for the establishment of this WW II Memorial.
Make your check payable to the World War II Memorial Fund and mail it to: World War II Memorial Fund, American Battle Monuments Commission, P.O. Box 96766, Washington, DC 20090-6766. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent of the law. You may also call 1-800-639-4992 for donation forms.
