During their regular meeting on May 25, the city council voted unanimously to authorize Mayor Thomas Suozzi to enter into a stipulation of settlement with John Gladsky upon the following terms: Gladsky will agree to vacate certain real property owned by the city by Nov. 1; the city will forgive all outstanding rent due to the city for Gladsky's prior possession of said property up to, and including, Nov. 1; and Gladsky will give up any and all claims that he says he has regarding a certain Contract of Sale dated May 7, 1992, regarding the property.

Mayor Thomas Suozzi has announced that Computer Associates along with other Long Island-based corporations will be sponsoring an exciting waterfront festival this Fourth of July weekend. The event will take place in Morgan Park and will begin July 2 through all day July 3 and all day July 4 ending with a huge fireworks display by Bay Fireworks Company of Long Island.

Billy Blind, a well-known local fisherman, holds a striped bass he reeled in on May 21. Billy said the fish weighed 34 lbs. 12 oz. and measured 44 1/4" long. Billy said he caught the fish in open water off Glen Cove's shores and it made him proud that the spot was right in his own backyard.
