David Thurston, of Stafford County, VA, died of cancer on Oct. 17, 1998, at his home. He was 56. Born in New York, he was the owner of Cove Taxi Corp. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Thurston; one son, David S. Thurston of Oklahoma; one daughter, Deborah J. Thurston of Stafford County; one brother, Charles Thurston of NY; one sister, Kathryn Grames of Colorado; and his mother, Kathryn Thurston of LI. Burial was in Fredericksburg, VA.

Patricia Anne Lemerise (nee McKenna), of Sturbridge, MA formerly of Sea Cliff, died on Oct. 21, 1998. Member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Wife of Dennis. Mother of Shawn, Mark and Sarah. Daughter of James McKenna of Sea Cliff and the late Anne Lynch McKenna. Stepdaughter of Margaret McKenna. Sister of Patrick (Geri), Peter (Jackie) and Gene (Doreen). Aunt of nine nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Pillsbury Funeral Home, Brookfield, MA. Mass at Notre Dame Church, Southbridge, MA. Marie G. Smith, of W. Palm Beach, FL formerly of Locust Valley, died on Oct. 25, 1998. Wife of the late George W. Mother of George W. and Gary A. Sister of Florence Parisi. Grandmother of Henry, Adam and Matthew. Service was held at the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Burial Locust Valley Cemetery.

Robert John Uhlendorf, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 27, 1998. Son of Edith and Frank. Brother of Amy U. O'Brien (Thomas) and the late Peter. Uncle of Victoria. Grandson of Hedwig Sabert and the late Erich Sabert, the late Bertha and the late Raymond Uhlendorf. Nephew of Doris A. Taylor and Jane U. Kempsell.
