Nina Mitrov (Iliin), wife of Victor; mother of Marianne Stifelman, Andrew, Eugene and Michael Mitrov; grandmother of George Stifelman and Corina Mitrov; great-grandmother of Tatiana Mitrov.

The Burch family announces with sadness the passing of Jacqueline Burch. She was born in Glen Cove Community Hospital. She was affectionately known as Jackie and was the youngest of six children. While living in Glen Cove, she attended the First Baptist Church of Glen Cove and was an active member there. She received her education in the Glen Cove Public Schools and graduated in 1982 with great distinction. She received her BS degree from Brockport State University in 1986, her MS degree in social work and her MSW specializing in alcohol and substance abuse from the State University of Stony Brook School of Social Welfare. Her civic involvement included organizations such as the National Association of Black Social Workers and the LI Minority Network. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and a current member of the First Baptist Church of Hempstead. She also served on several committees in the community as well as chairperson of the Board of Directors for Concerned Citizens of Roslyn Youth. She was founder of her own consultation business and she held workshops all over LI and NYC. Her current position was a department pyschotherapist at St. Vincent Services Inc. in Brooklyn.

Jackie was called home to be with God and her baby daughter on Oct. 9, 1998. She leaves to cherish with fond memories, her father and mother, Robert Lee and Emily Burch of Glen Cove; three sisters and two brothers, Robert Jr. and his wife Carol, Donald and his wife Linda, Willie Mae and her husband Edward, Karen and her husband David and Margaret Ann; her close and dear friend, William Nasir White; four special godchildren; a host of nieces and nephews whom she cherished; one great-niece and one great-nephew; and a host of family and friends.

Catherine Anna Royal, of Roslyn Heights formerly of Glen Head, died recently. Born in Brooklyn. Wife of the late Richard. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Martyr Church. Interment Greenfield Cemetery.

Juana Ancapi, 71, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 11, 1998. Wife of Guillermo. Mother of Sonia, Guillermo and Miriam. Grandmother of Dario, Viviana, Felipe, Carolina and Naomi. Great-grandmother of Deven. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass at St. Patrick's RC Church.

Sarah Youngs Spies, born in Old Brookville, died on Oct. 12, 1998. She was a member of the Syosset Garden Club. Mother of Barbara Jensen, Bruce Spies and Betsy Gustafson. Grandmother of Geoffrey and Russell Spies and the late Chris Keoghan. Sister of John H. Youngs. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral service. Interment private. Cornelia Mae Julye, 75, died suddenly on Oct. 13, 1998. Wife of Gerald. Mother of Marsha Greenwood, Enid Hopkins and the late Deborah Harden. Sister of Michael Treadwell. Grandmother of Jamie Hopkins. Great-grandmother of Taylor and Zachary Hopkins. Service under the direction of the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Burial Roslyn Cemetery.

Joan S. Clarke, formerly of Glen Head, died recently. Born in Brooklyn, she was active in the Glen Cove Women's Club and St. Mary's, Roslyn. Wife of the late John. Mother of John S., Robert A. and Joan Sefton. Grandmother of six. Great-grandmother of three. Sister of Marea and Robert. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Religious services. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Robert C. Hohmann, 64, died on Oct. 15, 1998. Employee of Pfizer International for over 40 years. Husband of Elaine K. Peter O'Rourke, of Glen Cove formerly of Glenwood Landing, died on Oct. 18, 1998. Born in Ireland, he was a laborer in construction for Rossigno Contracting, Bayville. Brother of Michael. Interment East Hillside Cemetery. Martha Karpinski, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 20, 1998. Sister of the late Matthew and Vardi. Cousin of Genevieve Stutz and Lily Miecznikowska.
