The LiTungsten 250-foot high smokestack will be demolished on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, at noon. David Evans of Precision Explosives, Inc., a reputable demolition contractor with over 25 years experience, will be in charge of the demolition.

It's official and boy, is our city bursting with pride. Glen Cove High School senior Frank Smith has earned the designation of National Merit Scholar. Frank is one of only 1,100 scholastically talented high school seniors in the nation who will receive corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards this year.

Big Red Baseball Improves to 4-1-1
Glen Cove's High School varsity baseball team went unbeaten in a trio of games last week, defeating Roosevelt and Manhasset, while tying Jericho. On April 4, Glen Cove sent 18 batters to the plate in the first inning, scoring 15 runs on route to a 25-0 thrashing of Roosevelt.
