This is in support of the Glen Cove High School Booster Club. This is a time when our youth are confronted with alcohol use, drug use, teen pregnancy, violence, and HIV. The sports programs at Glen Cove High School provide an alternative for the youth of Glen Cove against the dangers listed above. The doors to the gymnasiums and athletic fields are open to all of the students at Glen Cove High School.

The Booster Club helps to support these programs which serve a large population of students at the high school. The Boosters volunteer their time to raise money for dinners, awards, and scholarships. These are all tools for raising the self-esteem of our youth. As we all know, self-esteem is the first line of defense against the dangers that face our children.

We find it unusual that anyone would attack an organization that gives of their time and energy helping children. We commend People Helping People for identifying the Booster Club as one of the recipients of its campaign. The self-esteem of our youth is certainly a worthwhile cause!
