Dreams of Martin Luther King

By Victoria R. Crosby

The dream and vision of Martin Luther King

was to see a future that would bring

people together of every race.

Let your town be the place

where dreams come true.

Ask yourself what you can do

and how you can be,

to make his dream a reality.

What does it take to reach out a hand

to help another, and to understand

that we are brothers and sisters underneath.

That color of skin, or religious belief

are outer differences; we are the same.

So when you hear the name

of Dr. King,

ask yourself what you can bring

to your town, to help it be

a place of racial harmony.

It's all up to me, and it's all up to you

for Martin Luther King's dreams all to come true.
