Recreation And Parks Annual Easter Hunt

The Garden City Recreation Department is once again sponsoring the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30 at Community Park’s fields.  This year three hunts will be held beginning at 10 a.m. with three age divisions: preschool to kindergarten, grades 1 and 2; and grades 3 to 5.

Special eggs will be stuffed and hidden for all divisions. Each hunt will also feature a grand prize, (an Easter basket filled with goodies), that will go to the youngster who finds the egg marked “#1 Lucky Egg.”

USSI Multi Sport Camp To Be Held During Spring Break

The Recreation and Parks Department again offers the US Sports Institute’s Multi Sport Program during the spring break week of March 25-28. This four-day program, open to residents of the Village ages 5 to 12, will cover a range of sports and activities during the course of the session. Times and prices will be as follows:

9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. $119

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. $139 (camper should bring lunch)

1 to 4 p.m. $79

Parent And Tots Sports Program Announced

The Recreation and Parks Department is please to offer a program dedicated to parents and tots. The US Sports Institute’s Parent and Tot Program will introduce 2 and 3-year-olds to a variety of sports, games and group activities, all with the help of a parent. This seven-week program, open to residents of the Village of Garden City, will be available on Thursdays beginning April 18 according to the following times:

10 to 10:45 a.m. $95

11 to 11:45 a.m. $95

Noon to 12:45 p.m. $95

A Brand New Roller Rink For All To Enjoy

The Garden City Recreation & Parks Department is proud to announce that this spring it will debut its brand new roller rink where various hockey programs will be offered for residents of the village ages 5-17 and 30 and over. Whether you have played for years already, or looking to join, there is no better time to join in on all the fun. Stay tuned in the weeks to come for additional announcements regarding spring programs.  

Women’s Learn And Play Platform Class

Back by popular demand, the Women’s Learn and Play Paddle will take place at Community Park’s Platform Courts on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. This seven-week course will offer the basic instruction for the beginner player. The cost of this program is $175. Classes begin on Wednesday, March 20.
