The GC Centennial Soccer Club is looking for boys born between Aug. 1, 1994 and Dec. 31, 1995 who would be interested in playing soccer at the travel level this spring season.
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club will be opening their spring season on Saturday, April 10. Girls play 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and boys play from 1-5 p.m. (with the exception of Pre-K, kindergarten and first grade). The registration deadline is Jan. 31. Registrations that are received after Jan. 31 will be accepted based on space and availability and are subject to a $25 late fee.

Union College junior kicker/punter Blaise Ancona of Garden City has recently received numerous awards for his efforts for the Union College Dutchmen football team. Along with six of his teammates, Ancona was named to the 2009 Liberty League First Team All Star Team.
Are you looking for a fun way to stretch and tone your body? The Recreation Department is offering dance classes to help move those muscles and get back into shape. The adult ballet class is a fun way to exercise and the classes are geared to remember the “little ballerina” in you, whatever level that might be. The stretch and tone class offers simple dance movements, stretching and other exercises to music designed to add flexibility to your body.
On Saturday, Jan. 23, the Adelphi University women’s basketball team adopted 21-month-old Stefani Felber through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, a nonprofit, charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families.
