The board of trustees and village staff join me in extending our sincere best wishes for a Happy Passover to village residents.
Residents are reminded that village offices will close at noon next Friday, April 2, in observance of Good Friday and will reopen on April 5. Correspondence may be dropped in the letter slot at the front of Village Hall.
The annual Easter Festival and Antique Car Parade, sponsored by the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 4. The parade will step off from Parking Field 9E between Tenth and Eleventh streets and will proceed south on Franklin Avenue to Seventh Street, west to Hilton Avenue. Easter bunnies will be on Seventh Street during the parade.
Please take time from your busy day and bring the family down to enjoy a great Garden City event.
Beginning on April 1, working under a special permit from the village, food establishments on Seventh Street, New Hyde Park Road and Franklin Avenue, will place tables and chairs outside their shops and restaurants for your convenience and enjoyment. When this program begins, please stop by to let the merchants know that you appreciate their efforts and enjoy the many fine tastes of Garden City.
The next board of trustees meeting will be the annual organizational meeting, on April 5. The meeting will be held in the boardroom at Village Hall.
I encourage residents to periodically utilize the village’s website for information regarding the village’s operations, as well as items of seasonal and special interest. The address is www.gardencityny.net. For your convenience, listed on the village’s home page under the Heading of Administration is a sub-heading “Business Office: Required Permits and Regulations,” which includes information regarding block parties, garage sales, railroad parking, etc.
