Down by one with two outs, two strikes and a man on second, Brown University sophomore catcher Matthew Colantonio of Garden City blasted a monstrous two-run, walk-off home run to dead center field in the bottom of the ninth, bringing the screaming stadium fans to their feet and the team streaming out onto the field as the Bears beat Columbia and ran their Ivy League win streak to six consecutive games.
After taking a pair from U Penn on Saturday afternoon, the Brown University Bears took a pair of tight games against the Ivy rival Columbia Lions on Sunday afternoon. Colantonio, who started all four games at the catcher position, has a fielding percentage of .986 and has thrown out seven of eight base stealers. With the victory, Brown improves to 7-1 in Ivy League play. Brown travels next to New Hampshire to play Dartmouth.
