Two Garden City High School students, 11th grader Vinny LoSardo and 10th grader Abby McCaughley were part of the Nassau County Section 8 team that won this year's New York State Air Rifle Team Championship held at the Nassau County Rifle Range. Coached by Tom Schalk, Vinny went on to finish third in the state with 278 out of a possible 300 points. Abby also competed as an individual and finished fifth in the state with 277 points.
