Garden City Wants Mineola to Downscale Nine-Story Condo Proposal
Garden City's neighbor, the Village of Mineola, is seriously considering a condominium complex dubbed The Winston for the north side of Old Country Road, between Willis Avenue and Main Street, because village officials believe the project could provide tax revenue as well as housing for an area that some consider underutilized.

Newly-Renovated Periodical Room Opens at Library
The Garden City Public Library has opened its new reading room for its periodical collection. Magazines and newspapers are displayed so that the covers of the current issues can easily be seen by patrons who wish to browse for reading material or to locate a particular publication.

Centennial Soccer News
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club will be opening its spring season Saturday, April 5. Girls play 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and boys play from 1 to 5 p.m. The program runs for eight consecutive Saturdays with the exception of April 19 and May 24 (Memorial Day weekend).

Garden City Recreation Department News
