A bus struck a 14-year-old Garden City boy when he was trying to catch it early last Thursday morning as it was leaving the area. The accident occurred at 7:18 a.m. near the intersection of Yale and Garfield streets, Garden City police said. The Garden City High School freshman, whose name is not being released because of his age, suffered serious injuries to his leg and pelvis, according to police. He was later transported to Winthrop Hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing at this time. The bus driver has not been named. FULL STORY
