Fourteen-Year-Old Struck by School Bus
A bus struck a 14-year-old Garden City boy when he was trying to catch it early last Thursday morning as it was leaving the area. The accident occurred at 7:18 a.m. near the intersection of Yale and Garfield streets, Garden City police said. The Garden City High School freshman, whose name is not being released because of his age, suffered serious injuries to his leg and pelvis, according to police. He was later transported to Winthrop Hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing at this time. The bus driver has not been named.

Miller Named National Player of the Week
Junior All-American Emily Miller of Garden City was recently named the Division III Player of the Week by womensfieldhockey.com. The forward scored three goals in two games at the Black-Eyed Susan Tournament, including two in #17 Johns Hopkins 4-2 upset win over #4 Cortland.
