One of the most attractive facilities within the Village is our Garden City Swimming Pool. Its 51st season began Saturday, June 9. All residents are encouraged to become members of the swimming pool and to enjoy all that it has to offer to all age groups.
By an Act of Congress, dated August 3, 1949, June 14 of each year was designated "National Flag Day" and the week in which June 14 occurs as "National Flag Week." The "Pause for the Pledge of Allegiance" was made an official Flag Day ceremony by an Act of Congress in 1985. The National Flag Day Foundation, Inc. is asking all citizens of the United Sates to display the flag during that week and that all Americans join in the annual "Pause For The Pledge" ceremony June 14 at 7 p.m. by reciting in unison the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag and nation. Please remember that displaying the flag at night requires proper illumination.
The village's solicitation law prohibits all unwanted commercial solicitations and distributions on all private residential property in the village and prohibits non-commercial solicitations and distributions on private property to the extent desired by the resident. This law was designed to protect residents from unwanted invasions of their privacy. Any resident requesting not to be solicited should complete a "Notice of Objection" form at the Village Hall.
