The Garden City Centennials announce that Soccer Fest will take place this Saturday, June 9, at St. Paul's fields. Soccer games for all ages will take place on that day. There will be a food concession, vendors and a bouncy castle for the kids to enjoy. Come down to the fields and enjoy some treats while watching the teams play for their championships!
Boys' fall soccer registration is currently in process. Players in grades K-6 who attend school or live in Garden City are eligible to participate. The season will run on Saturday afternoons from Sept. 8 to early November. Applications were mailed to most homes but can also be found at gc-aa.com, at St. Paul's and the Garden City Recreation Department. The application deadline is June 30. Please wear a white T-shirt, shin guards and cleats. Bring a soccer ball and water. If you are presently on a travel team, do not wear any part of the team uniform to tryouts. You may try out for any or all teams within your birth date range, regardless of experience or current team affiliation. However, by attending a team tryout, you are committed to that team if you are selected. *You must attend both days of the new U10 team tryouts to be considered for selection. *All tryouts will be held at Nassau Haven Park. In order to attend the new U10 tryouts, GC Centennials asks that all participants register online at www.gccentennialsoccer.org.
The Garden City Centennials will be entering a U-9/third grade boys soccer team or teams in the fourth annual Father's Day Weekend Soccer Tournament hosted by the Plainedge Soccer Club to be held June 16-17 at Stillwell Fields in Syosset. Games will be played on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning with a minimum of five games. Please note you must commit to play both days.
