Senator Kemp Hannon offers a senior checklist.
|
Senator Kemp Hannon kicked off his series of senior forums, designed to provide seniors with essential information to enable them to make informed decisions about protecting their independence, health and choice in housing as they age gracefully.
Participating in this lively series sponsored by Senator Hannon are "Connecting Seniors to Services" speakers Tracey Kuczinski, senior housing specialist and senior advocate; Ginny Belling, geriatric specialist with the Alzheimer's Foundation; and Shelia Lyons, Esq. who offered ways to protect your life savings.
Senator Hannon said, "Our office received over 700 phone calls in response to our February letter. When planning these programs we seek to bring good speakers who are experts in their fields and have the ability to explain the details in a clearly understood fashion. With Tracey, Ginny and Shelia, some folks are trying to get in to another seminar to have more questions answered. We are fortunate they were available to be with us for this program."
Because of the program popularity, a fourth program has been added that includes the aforementioned three speakers. On Thursday, May 24, from 7-9 p.m., at the Levittown Library the program will be repeated. Call Senator Hannon's Community Office at 739-1700 to make reservations as space is limited.
This forum is free and open to the public and will address some of the vital issues seniors have expressed that concern them. From Alzheimer's disease, reviewing the elements of estate planning and housing options, there is plenty of information for everyone.
