As training for America's entry into World War I intensified, the War Department built one of the nation's largest hospital complexes to support Camp Mills. It was located in Garden City in what is now the Mott section and just north of that. This placed it about one-half mile from Camp Mills proper, which it primarily served; the entrance to Camp Mills being at Clinton Road and St James South. FULL STORY
