Stewart Manor FD Saves Premature Baby's Life
The Stewart Manor Fire Department received a Fire Department EMS unit citation during an awards ceremony April 18 for the valiant efforts the department made at an emergency rescue call in December 2006 for a young woman who had just delivered a child at 24 weeks. The department was officially honored during the recent Nassau County Fire Commission awards ceremony last month.

Did you know that Garden City once had one of the largest hospitals in the country? With 2,000 beds it was larger than the four largest present-day Nassau County hospitals. It was state-of-the-art for its time and was a complex of some 30 buildings, with its own railroad siding and power plant.

Centennial Soccer News
The Centennials will be sponsoring soccer clinics for girls in grades 2 through 9 and boys in grades 2 through 6 who are registered in the spring program. The clinic program is presenting the opportunity to those children who would like to have some fun, enhance their skills and play more soccer.
