The recreation department's tennis center is pleased to announce the start of registration for its spring program. The spring tennis classes are offered to Garden City residents ages 5-18. All classes will begin the week of Monday, April 30, and run for six weeks. The schedule and fees for this year's youth classes are as follows (all classes are 55 minutes long):

The recreation department will conduct evening tennis lessons for adults who live in Garden City. The lessons will be held at the Garden City Community Park tennis facility and will run one evening a week. There will be a maximum of four players on a court. To register for any of these sessions, come to the recreation office in village hall. Payment must accompany your registration form and separate checks will be needed for each session you register for. A tennis pro will then set up lessons on the courts with people with like abilities. Participants will be emailed or called with his/her lesson assignment.
All residents of Garden City are welcome to join the women's spring tennis tuneup. This program is geared to competitive and tennis team players. All sessions will be run at the Community Park tennis facility. The cost of each session is $60. The recreation department has divided the program into five sessions as follows:
Session 1 May 1, May 3 9-11 a.m.
Session 2 May 1, May 3 11:30-1:30 p.m.
Session 3 May 2, May 4 9-11 a.m.
Session 4 May 2, May 4 11:30-1:30 p.m.
Groups are encouraged and all efforts will be made to accommodate team grouping and/or ability level by court and session whenever possible. To register, visit the recreation office in village hall by April 28.
Roster packages for the recreation department's men's over 35 softball league are now available. This league plays on Sunday evenings. Rosters will be accepted from teams meeting the following eligibility requirements: teams must be comprised of residents of Garden City; all players must be over 35 years old or turning 35 during the course of the season.
The fee is $500, which includes games, balls and umpires. Application packages can be picked up at the recreation department in village hall. The completed roster package will be accepted until May 3 or until 12 completed packages are received.
If you reside in Garden City, are 18 and older and would like to play softball in one of the recreation department's softball leagues, call 465-4075 to put your name on the player list. The department sometimes has coaches who are looking for extra players to round out their rosters. Call and leave your name, age, address and phone number and the department will keep your information on file for the team who is looking for players.
The recreation department's adult swim program resumed at Adelphi's indoor pool located in Woodruff Hall, Jan. 8. This free program is open to any adult resident of the village, ages 18 or older.
Aerobic classes are held in St. Paul's Cluett Hall according to the following schedule:

Instructors are up-to-date on the latest moves to keep you interested while exercising. Pat and Joy have years of experience and can show individuals how to modify the exercises to their levels. To attend a single class, show up on the given day and pay $4. To attend regularly, 20 class passes can be purchased for $60, a savings of $1 per class.
