The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Mercy Medical Center welcomed Jump Start Foundation Board Members Matthew Colantonio, Meaghan Murphy, and Brian Wysocki, as Jump Start Foundation delivered a $10,000 check to be used for life-saving equipment in the Level III NICU. The funds donated were proceeds from recent Jump Start Foundation events.

The Level III NICU provides critical care for premature and sick newborn babies and is staffed by specialized nurses and doctors who care for babies with life-threatening illnesses. Jump Start Foundation was created in 2003 by Garden City high school students and hosts annual athletic events to raise awareness and funds for the NICU. To date they have donated over $90,000 to the NICU thanks to the generosity of the participants in their events and the hard work of the volunteers.
