Village Trustees Adopt No-Tax-Increase Budget
Trustees adopted Garden City's proposed 2007-08 $53,703,458 village budget - an increase of 2.29 percent over that of last year's - during a hearing April 2 at village hall. Applying surplus funds and revenues, a $36.98 tax rate is required to balance the budget; however, this results in "no tax increases" for residents, a "goal" Trustee and Finance Commissioner John Watras, members of the Citizen's Budget Review Committee and the board sought and achieved. Residents may examine the budget at village hall, 351 Stewart Avenue, Monday through Friday - excepting legal holidays - between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Women's Spring Tennis Tune-up
The recreation department is please to conduct a very popular women's spring tennis tune-up. All residents of the village are welcome to join this clinic. This program is geared to competitive and tennis team players anxious to kick start their tennis game. All sessions will be run at the Community Park tennis facility. The cost of each session is $60.

Garden City Recreation Department News
The recreation department's tennis center is pleased to announce the start of registration for its spring program. The spring tennis classes are offered to Garden City residents ages 4-18. All classes will begin the week of Monday, April 30, and run for six weeks. The schedule and fees for this year's youth classes are as follows (all classes are 55 minutes long):
