The recreation department's tennis staff will offer an open house of the junior round robin tennis program Sunday, March 4, from 2-4 p.m. at Community Park's tennis facility.

The department's round robin tennis program is a Junior League Intraclub Program for children ages 9-18. This program offers competitive match play formatted to fit each child's playing level.

The league is organized by age and playing ability. Interested children must be able to serve for the baseline, sustain a slow paced rally, keep score unassisted and have an understanding of the rules of tennis.

This program will be minimally supervised during match play. Teaching staff will set up the matches. All matches will be held on Sundays between 2-4 p.m. The league will begin Sunday, March11. If you choose to participate in this league, the cost of the eight-week program will be $130.

The recreation department will begin its third sessions of preschool arts and crafts the week of March 7. This six-week program is held at St. Paul's Cluett Hall and is open to children ages 3-and-a-half to 5 years old who reside in Garden City.

Children interested in this program may register for either Wednesday or Thursday sessions. The 45-minute class begins at 12:15 p.m. The cost of each six-week session is $30.

The child registering must be three-and-a-half by March 7 in order to register for a session. To register, visit the recreation office in village hall.

It is with regret that the recreation department informs residents that, due to a change in Nassau Coliseum's policies, the office will no longer be able to obtain tickets on consignment and will not be receiving tickets to any performances in the future. The recreation department is sorry for any inconvenience this may cause residents.

The recreation department is sponsoring middle school recreation nights on the following remaining dates at St. Paul's Field House:
