Garden City High School Senior Abhinav Rohatgi has been named a finalist in the Intel Science Talent Search for his work on the environmental effects of the gasoline additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE).

Rob Rothschild Holds on to Trustee Seat
Incumbent village trustee Robert Rothschild proved victorious in the Jan. 30 Estates section runoff election, besting his opponent, John DeMaro, the Estates POA Nominating Committee's selection for village trustee. Rothschild received 437 votes while DeMaro received 197 votes. Rothschild successfully sought re-election to a position he has held for the past four years.

Registrations are still being accepted for the Centennial Spring Soccer Program. Register by visiting www.gccentennialsoccer.org and select the "online intramural registration" link. Registrations received after Jan. 31 are now accepted based on space and availability and are subject to a $25 late fee.

On Sunday afternoons, the St. Paul's Field House is open for family fun for village families. This open time provides the opportunity for families to enjoy various gym activities in an indoor environment. The gym is available for use from noon to 3:30 p.m. each Sunday now through March.
