Trustees' Committee Carefully Reviewing St. Paul's Proposals
In continuing its "careful" and "systematic" review of the six proposals received last month in response to the St. Paul's RFP (Request For Proposal), members of the Garden City Board of Trustees' St. Paul's Committee completed their initial review and issued letters to some of the respondents asking for additional information and clarification.

Adelphi Receives Largest NYS Grant in Its 110-Year History
Adelphi University has received a $5 million New York State grant for the construction of its state-of-the-art performing arts center, which will allow Adelphi to become a cultural arts anchor and a vital resource for the Long Island region. The grant, announced by Adelphi President Robert A. Scott Nov. 1 on the Garden City campus, was made possible through the leadership of Senator Michael Balboni '81 and his fellow senators from Nassau County.

Garden City Runners Invited to LI Blood Services Rob's Run
Runners from Garden City and nearby communities are cordially invited to be part of the 14th annual edition of Long Island Blood Services Rob's Run, a 5 Kilometer cross-country run which will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26 at Stillwell Woods Park in Syosset. Registration and number/shirt pickup will be at Syosset High School from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.

Garden City Recreation Department News
Registration for the second session of the recreation department's youth tennis lessons is ongoing and all classes are rapidly filling. This 12-week session begins in January 2007 and is open to children ages 4-18 who reside in the village. Do not wait until the last minute; visit the recreation office in village hall for more information or to register.
