The contractor will be installing decorative granite blocks at each of the tree pits this week as well as continuing to replace curbing and drainage inlets. Please bare with us during this construction period - the results will be beneficial to all. Expectations are for the resurfacing to be done within three weeks.
On Saturday, Sept. 9, the Property Owners' Association of Garden City Estates will be celebrating its Centennial Anniversary in conjunction with the Garden City Breeders Cup Race at Belmont.
In addition to the Breeders Cup Garden City Race there will be paddock tours, a racing analysis and a Hat Contest.

Looking ahead, and acknowledging that there are several proposed projects that could adversely impact our village, e.g., LIRR third track, HUB development, transportation links to the proposed HUB, I am in the process of scheduling meetings with our citizen committee, chaired by former Mayor Hal Hecken and with representatives from the four property owners' associations, officials from neighboring villages, the Town of Hempstead and the Nassau Legislature, in order to develop a program to oppose these proposed programs that could significantly alter the quality of life in our village.
