Court Tosses Residents' Lawsuit Against Village
This month, State Supreme Court Justice William LaMarca tossed out of court a lawsuit Peter Negri, a former village trustee, Thomas Poole and James Edmund Keating filed against the Village of Garden City to prevent the possible sale of the Main Building at St. Paul's to private developers.

Hats Off to the Class of 2006
Gloomy weather didn't dampen the spirit of the Class of 2006. They marched proudly into the Garden City High School gymnasium as the Ceremony Winds Group, conducted by Brandon Psenicha, performed Pomp and Circumstances March No. 1. The Senior Chorale gave a magnificent rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, followed by the Alma Mater and Always There.

GC Bombers Participate in Santo Domingo Tourney
In a turn of events that has shocked even the team's own coaches, the Garden City Bombers 17-year-old baseball club has won the first two games of its tournament in the Dominican Republic. "This is God's work as much as mine," Head Coach Lou Santos said. "They might have sent great players out against us, but we played in synchronization as a team. All these teams have great players, but we did the simple things correctly."

Garden City Recreation Department News
The recreation department is holding summer recreation nights for children entering Grades 8-12 on Tuesday evenings. The Field House will be open from 7:30-10 p.m. to play basketball and volleyball and musical entertainment will be provided. Any child who resides in Garden City is invited to participate. Recreation staff will provide supervision. This program will continue through Tuesday, Aug. 15.
