Gerald S. Levinson, 91, died on June 2, 2006 at age 91. Mr. Levinson was a financial executive in New York City for more than a quarter of a century, serving in the 1970s as the first non-family chairman of the Farberware Company upon its sale to a public conglomerate.
Mr. Levinson was born on Dec. 13, 1914 in the Bronx. He attended the Bernard Baruch School of Business at CCNY and later in his career earned a law degree at the NY Law School. He served in the Army during WWII and thereafter became a certified public accountant.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dr. Risha W. Levinson, Professor Emerita of Adelphi University School of Social Work; two sons, Martin H. Levinson of Forest Hills and Daniel R. Levinson of Chevy Chase, MD; two daughters, Dr. Judith Feld of East Amherst and Nancy Balash of North Bellmore; and six granddaughters.
