Kathleen Smith, of Southold, died at her home on May 26, 2006. She was 92 years old. She was born in Drumlish, Ireland to Brendan and Maryanne (nee Scanlon) Quinn on Feb. 26, 1914. Formerly of Garden City, she had been a longtime resident of the North Fork.

Predeceased by her husband L. Kingsley Smith on Nov. 8 1996. She leaves her sons, Thomas K. Smith of Carolina and Lewis J. Smith of Florida; a sister Alice Quinn of Drumlish; five nieces and nephews: Brother Augustine Towey, CM, of Niagara University, Douglas Towey of Lloyds Neck, Brenda Romanski of Lake Ronkonkoma, Anne Towey of North Merrick and Marie Quinn of Drumlish; and many other nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home, Southold. Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's RC Church, Southold. Interment St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
