In their most impressive victory of the year, the fifth-grade Lady Rams lacrosse team dominated a tough Manhasset team, winning by a score of 11-7, raising their record on the year to 3-1.

The Lady Rams, led by coaches Shannon, Jahelka and Coleman saw the homestanding Manhasset squad jump out to a quick lead in the first quarter before goals by Addie Zebrowski and Katie Rizzo knotted the score at 2-2, midway through the first period.

The second period opened with the Lady Rams down 4-2, but an attacking defense led by Marie Cristoforo, Kathryn LaRiviere and Olivia Zimmer protected goalie Kelly Quinn (five saves on the day) and stifled Manhasset as the Lady Rams scored five unanswered goals to take a halftime lead of 7-4. Leading the scoring barrage were Jackie Jahelka (two second period goals), Mary Glenn, Lily Schmitt, as well as another tally by Addie Zebrowski. Earning assists on the first-half goals were Megen Higgins, Amanda Diller, Emily Priest and Emily Betts.

The Lady Rams increased their lead to 8-4 early in the third period on Jackie Jahelka's third goal of the day and maintained a comfortable lead that saw additional second-half goals by Mary Glenn (three goals on the day) and Lily Schmitt (two goals on the day). Assists in the second half were credited to Haley Shannon, Erica Giarraputo and Sarah LaRiviere.

The Lady Rams were cheered on by injured standouts Bitty Furman and Erin Higgins and looked forward to welcoming back teammates Johanna Fitzpatrick and Lauren Coleman when they traveled to West Islip for a Mother's Day tilt.
