Nancy Kalafus welcoming parents, athletes and coaches.

Director of Athletics Nancy Kalafus schedules "Meet the Coaches Night" before the fall, winter and spring seasons for parents, athletes and coaches.

Prior to the athletic meetings, there is a presentation. For the spring season, the presentation was: "Winning Without Steroids: the Science Behind Natural Athletic Conditioning." Christopher Lopez and Edward Farrell, from Physical Solutions, discussed important information concerning the negative effects of steroid use for athletes. The speakers focused on maximizing natural potential through hard work. Farrell and Lopez spoke about the principals of strength training and conditioning, as well as the results of exercise: strength, endurance, speed, agility, flexibility and body composition. The value of good nutrition was highlighted as a vital component of a healthy athlete.

Following the presentation, parents and athletes met with individual coaches to review the program, expectations and responsibilities. "Meet the Coaches Night" is an enjoyable and informative evening for parents and students.
