Adelphi Announces Largest Gift in the University's History
Adelphi University has announced receipt of a gift of $8.5 million, the largest gift in its 110-year history, from Carol A. Ammon M.B.A. '79, founder and chairman of Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. and member of the university's board of trustees. In recognition of Ms. Ammon's generosity, Adelphi has named its School of Education the Adelphi University Ruth S. Ammon School of Education, in honor of Carol's mother, an alumna of the Class of 1942.

Garden City Police Department Commissioner Ernest J. Cipullo would like to remind parents as the end of the school year approaches and teenagers celebrate with proms, parties and other social gatherings, we must review our efforts to emphasize alcohol-free activities for the youth of our community. "Purchasing or possessing alcoholic beverages by anyone under age 21 is illegal and consuming them may result in serious consequences," Commissioner Cipullo said.

Garden City Recreation Department News
The recreation department's annual Easter egg hunt for Pre-K to fifth grade will be held at Community Park Saturday, April 15. This program is open to residents of Garden City. The egg hunt will begin promptly at 10 a.m. There will be three hunts for the following age groups: Pre-K and kindergarten, first and second grades and third through fifth grades. The children will be searching for all kinds of treats as well as special numbered eggs, which can be redeemed for prizes.
