Late registrations are now being accepted for the Centennial Spring Soccer Program. Registration is being accepted based on space and availability and is subject to a $25 late fee. The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club will be opening its spring season Saturday, April 8. Girls' games are scheduled for 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Boys play in the afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. The program runs for eight consecutive Saturdays with the exception of Easter and Memorial Day weekends. The season ends June 10 with Soccerfest. A full schedule can be found at www.gccentennialsoccer.org.
The program is open to girls entering kindergarten in September through ninth grade and boys entering kindergarten in September through sixth grade. Register by visiting www.gccentennialsoccer.org and select the "online intramural registration" link.
If you are not sure if you registered your child or want to verify that your registration was indeed accepted, visit Centennial's homepage and click on the link "did I register my child?" Keep in mind that if you have paid by check your child will not appear until the check is received and has cleared.
To join the intramural mailing list, visit the Centennial website (www.gccentennialsoccer.org) and click on the "join our mailing list" link.
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club is offering its intramural referee course March 28 and 30 at 7 p.m. In order to become a referee, one must be in seventh grade or older; attend both the March 29 and 30 sessions (no exceptions), pass a written test and be available to referee games on Saturdays. Email Sandy Young at sandramyoung@msn.com for details.
The Centennials will be sponsoring spring soccer clinics for girls in Grades 2-9 and boys in Grades 2-6 that are registered in the spring program. The clinic program is presenting the opportunity to those children who would like to have some fun, enhance their skills and play more soccer.
These clinics are interchangeable and children can attend multiple clinics. Therefore if a child in Grade 2 cannot make the Tuesday clinic he/she can attend the Grade 3 clinic Thursday. If a child in Grade 2 or 3 would like to attend both clinic days (Tuesday and Thursday) he/she are welcome to do that. The same holds true for children in the older age groups.
