A Glimpse of Garden City Village's Five-Year Capital Plan
During the Village of Garden City's 25th annual budget overview Feb. 9 - held on a Thursday evening this year rather than a Saturday morning - residents got a glimpse of the municipality's five-year (2006-2011) capital plan. A departure from what Garden City has seen in the past, Village Auditor Jim Olivo said this plan moves away from the pay-as-you-go philosophy due to a number of projects that warrant a debt service issuance.

Garden City Centennial Soccer Club News
Late registrations are now being accepted for the Centennial Spring Soccer Program. Registration after Jan. 31 will be accepted based on space and availability and is subject to a $25 late fee. The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club will be opening its spring season Saturday, April 8. Girls' games are scheduled for 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Boys play in the afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. The program runs for eight consecutive Saturdays with the exception of Easter and Memorial Day weekends. The season ends June 10 with Soccerfest. A full schedule can be found at www.gccentennialsoccer.org.
