A rash of home invasion burglaries has been experienced on Long Island in recent weeks. I have been assured by Police Commissioner Cipullo that the Garden City Police Department has adjusted patrols and is doing everything that it can do to deter this from occurring in Garden City. The police department is also working in close cooperation with the Nassau County Police Department to apprehend those responsible.

Residents are urged to immediately report any suspicious situations to the Garden City Police Department by calling 911.

Daylight Savings Time ended Sunday, Oct. 30. Residents are reminded that clocks should be set back one hour. As a reminder, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 resulted in two consecutive odd days. All residents with automatic sprinklers should remember to reset their clocks to comply with the village's lawn watering regulations. As a further reminder, the last day for lawn sprinkling is Nov. 30.
