During October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Senator Kemp Hannon joins the Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline in announcing the availability of free or low cost mammograms.
"There is assistance for women living on a low income," Senator Hannon said. "They need not put their own health last as they struggle to provide for their families."
To learn about available resources, women with a low income are urged to call the Adelphi New York Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program toll free hotline at 800-877-8077.
Hillary Rutter, director of the hotline, said, "We want to make sure that every woman in New York is able to get a mammogram." She added, "Help is just a phone call away."
