Garden City residents debated, once again, the proposed construction of an assisted living facility on the site of Cathedral House during the Sept. 9 board meeting. Many senior residents urged the board to grant a zoning change so Sunrise Senior Living's (Sunrise) petition could move forward while others prodded trustees to rethink the proposed location, a site they believe is too centrally located. The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club opened its fall season Sept. 10. Games are played from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Paul's. The Garden City Recreation Department is pleased to announce it is now opening registration for the Dance Conservatory Program. All classes begin the week of Sept. 26. A child must be 4 years of age to begin classes with the exception of Creative Movement.
