Garden City Attorney Sentenced to One to Three Years in Jail
Nassau County Court Judge William Donnino sentenced Garden City attorney Kathleen Trum of Brooke Street to one to three years in prison, according to Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon. Trum was arrested by the DA's Special Investigations Bureau July 1, 2003. On Jan. 18 of this year she pled guilty to the top count of grand larceny in the second degree, a Class C felony, in satisfaction of the indictment. In addition to her sentence, Trum was ordered to make full restitution totaling $376,542.70 to two estates ($349,645.18 & $26,897.52).

Dr. Robert Feirsen Appointed New Superintendent of Garden City Schools
At a special board of education meeting July 13, Dr. Robert Feirsen was appointed superintendent of Garden City Public Schools. He replaces Dr. Stephen Leitman, who officially retired July 31.

Saldana Captures Second in U16 Division Goalie War Tourney
On July 22, Brandon Saldana traveled to The Westminster School Campus in Simsbury, CT for a local Goalie War Tournament hosted by Star Goalkeeper Academy. Saldana agreed to play up to two years in the 16-year-old division since one of those players was a no-show.
