J. Raymond Mylott, of Garden City, husband of Elizabeth Mylott, passed away on June 10, 2005 at the Cleveland Clinic, where he had gone to seek treatment for heart failure.
Mr. Mylott was born Nov. 14, 1930 in Brooklyn, son of the late John and Grace McMahon Mylott. A graduate of Columbia University School of Engineering, Ray was also a proud veteran of the US Navy. In 2002, he retired as Director of Quality Assurance in the Finance Dept. for the City of New York. He was a former Garden City School Board member and a Village Trustee from the Estates Section. He also co-chaired a number of committees.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Pennington Mylott of Garden City, he is survived by one son, Andrew Raymond Mylott and his wife, Jennifer of Westport, CT; one daughter, Anne Louise Mylott and her fiance John Cash of Bloomington, IN; one sister Barbara Mylott of Boca Raton, FL; three grandchildren, Carter, Parke and Paige Mylott; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
His funeral service was conducted at Caniff Funeral Home, Ashland, KY. He was buried in wife Elizabeth's family plot. Memorial contributions are welcome in the name of J. Raymond Mylott and can be made to the Heart Center at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, 9600 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44195.
