Senator Kemp Hannon invites the public to join him at his 4th annual Family Health & Safety Fair Saturday, June 11, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Island Trees Middle School, Wantagh Avenue, Levittown.
"I created the Family Health and Safety Fair to make it simpler for parents and children to learn how to nurture and protect themselves. We will have information on many ways to make your lives healthy, full and safe and many of the exhibits will be fun as well as educational," Senator Hannon said.
There will be exhibits with information on child ID fingerprinting, car seat safety, bicycle safety, home safety, first aid and Child/Family Health Plus. A Levittown Fire Department smoke trailer will educate children on how to react and escape a smoke filled room; and the New York Islanders/New York Dragons will have a football toss, their mascot Sparky, giveaways and a free raffle.
Other interactive exhibits will be featured by the Automobile Club of America, Allstate, Financial Freedom, Molly Biggane Melanoma Foundation, Schneider Children's Hospital, Yours Ours Mine Community Center, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Girl Scouts of Nassau County, LI Regional Poison and Drug Information Center, Nassau County Police Department, Nassau Coalition Against Domestic Violence, New York Life Insurance Co., RECCO Home Care Services Inc., Tobacco Action Coalition of LI, American Red Cross, LIPA, Winthrop-University Hospital, MADD-LI Chapter, Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs, State Farm Insurance, New Island Hospital, Catholic Charities, Coalition on Child Abuse & Neglect, Reality Check, Nassau County Department of Health and Nassau County Department of Drugs & Alcohol.
