Board Welcomes Trustee Donald Brudie
The board of trustees welcomed its newest trustee, Donald Brudie of Cathedral Avenue, at the May 5 meeting. Mayor Gerard Lundquist appointed him to serve the remainder of past trustee Peter Negri's term; Negri resigned for health reasons.

Board of Trustees Adopts Village Wide Non-Discriminatory Parks Policy
The board of trustees adopted a policy May 5 for the "non-discriminatory enforcement of the residency requirement in neighborhood parks." After seeking opinion of counsel during an executive session, Mayor Gerard Lundquist noted it is the village's policy that Garden City parks, including Hemlock, Tullamore, Grove, Edgemere and Nassau Haven, are to be used by Garden City residents only and their guests.

Centennial Soccer News
The GC Centennial Soccer Club is offering spring soccer clinics for children in grades 2-8. The clinic program is presenting the opportunity to those children who would like to have fun, enhance their skills and play more soccer. These clinics are interchangeable and children can attend multiple clinics. Therefore if a child in Grade 2 cannot make the Tuesday clinic, they can attend the Grade 3 clinic on Wednesday. If a child in Grade two or three would like to attend both clinic days (Tuesday and Wednesday) they are welcome to do that. The same holds true for children in the older age groups.
