Soccer Program to Begin Intramurals

The Garden City Centennial Soccer Program will begin its intramurals shortly. This program is open to boys in Pre-K through sixth-grade and to girls in Pre-K through ninth-grade. A child is considered Pre-K if he/she will be attending kindergarten this fall.

The schedule of play dates is as follows: Saturday, April 2, Saturday, April 9, Saturday, April 16, Saturday, April 23 (first weekend of spring break), Saturday, May 7, Saturday, May 14, Saturday, May 21 and Saturday, June 4 (soccerfest).

Children will be notified of their team assignments the week before the season begins. All players must wear shin guards and cleats. Girls' teams will play between 9 a.m. and noon. Boys' teams will play between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. For further information, contact Larry Zarou at 746-1722 for the girls' intramural program or Tom Pratt at 741-1701 for the boys' program.

Spring Soccer Clinics for Boys and Girls

The GC Centennial Soccer Club is offering spring soccer clinics for children in grades 2-8. The clinic program is presenting the opportunity to those children that would like to have fun, enhance their skills and play more soccer. These clinics are interchangeable and children can attend multiple clinics. Therefore if a child in grade two cannot make the Tuesday clinic, they can attend the grade three clinic on Wednesday. If a child in grade two or three would like to attend both clinic days (Tuesday and Wednesday) they are welcome to do that. The same holds true for children in the older age groups.

The girls weekday clinic schedule (St. Paul's Field A) is as follows:

Grade 2 will be held Tuesdays between 4-5 p.m. April 5, 12 and 19 and May 3, 10, 17 and 24. Grade 3 will be held Wednesdays between 4-5 p.m. April 6, 13 and 20 and May 4, 11, 18 and 25. Grades 4-8 will be held Thursdays between 4-5 p.m. April 7, 14 and 21 and May 5, 12 19 and 26.

The boys weekday clinic schedule (St. Paul's Field A) is as follows: Grade 2 will be held Tuesdays between 5-6 p.m. April 5, 12 and 19 and May 3, 10, 17 and 24. Grade 3 will be held Wednesdays between 5-6 p.m. April 6, 13 and 20 and May 4, 11, 18 and 25. Grades 4-6 will be held Thursdays between 5-6 p.m. April 7, 14 and 21 and May 5, 12, 19 and 26.
