This year at St. Joseph School once again participated in the Nassau County Catholic Middle Level Basketball League. The kids had an opportunity to play against teams from Catholic schools all over Nassau County. At the conclusion of the season, St. Joe's was presented with the first annual Referee's Sportsmanship Award.

The ceremony was held following the championship game at St. Agnes Cathedral School in Rockville Centre. St. Joseph School Assistant Principal Mary Murphy accepted the award, along with eighth-grade students from the girls' and boys' teams. During the presentation, officials from the league stated, "Whenever you came to St. Joseph School's gym you were treated with hospitality and respect."
