Trustees, Again, Reach Stalemate on St. Paul's Issue
A St. Paul's work session Nov. 4 drew the usual meeting goers and then some. Trustees grappled with the same nagging issues, some even attempting to throw out a resolution here and there. But in the end, all left frustrated after talks about a "structurally sound but cosmetically deteriorating" building came, once again, to a resounding stalemate. "We're deadlocked and we're trying to move toward a compromise," Mayor Barbara Miller admitted.

GC Bombers Win Diamond Pros Fall League Baseball Championship
"Goes to show, you don't ever know" (R. Hunter). It was a bad week for curses. First the Boston Red Sox inexplicably ended 86 years of frustration by winning the 2004 World Series. Then the Garden City Bombers, a privately sponsored baseball team, won their first championship after more than a half-dozen runner-up finishes in four years of tournament and league play.
