On August 8 I sent a letter ["Thanks for the HUB Article"] to your columnist Michael Miller, seeking some information about the HUB project, which has been the topic of one of his columns. It was intended to be a private communication raising some off-hand questions and asking for some help. Mr. Miller did not reply to my request, which is his prerogative. But then on August 13 I got an e-mail from you asking if I wanted my letter printed in your paper. On August 14 I replied to your e-mail stating that I did not want my letter printed. Now I see my letter printed in your paper. This implies that I wanted to publicly question how the project was being run. That was not my intent at all. As far as I can tell the study is being managed in a very professional manner. I was rather trying to understand the overall strategy of the program.

Publishing my private letter against my wishes is highly unprofessional. It could undermine my ability to work with planning colleagues here in Nassau County.

(Editor's Note: Garden City Life mistakenly printed the aforementioned letter, "Thanks for HUB Article," in the August 27 issue. We regret the error.)
