Charlotte Erva Gardner, nee Davis, 86, died Sunday Aug. 1, 2004. She was born in Little Rock, AR, the daughter of George P. and Erva England Powles Davis and attended schools on Long Island, New York and graduated Hofstra University. Charlotte married George "Tim" Gardner who died early in the marriage. She then married F.R. Linsenmeir.

Charlotte spent summers in Maine with her parents on a camp on Crystal Lake since she was a child. The early childhood swimming experiences created a foundation for her to become one of the beautiful young ladies who performed synchronized swimming at the Aquatic Center at Jones Beach. Upon graduating Hofstra University while living on Long Island she owned and operated George B. Gardner & Sons Memorials and a sand blasting company which did a lot for work Grumman Air Craft. While living on Long Island she belonged to the Garden City Country club. In 1975 she moved to Maine to retire and became an active member of her childhood community. She served on several town committees, Gray Water District, Gray Animal Farm, and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, Maine State Parade, First Congregational Church of Gray, and the Hofstra Alumni Association. Charlotte was an avid bridge player, golfer, bowler, and was an Eagle Scout. Charlotte's love and passion was her flowers and gardens.

She is survived by her beloved children: Erva Louise England Linsenmeir Gardner of Gray, ME, Tim Gardner II and wife Lisa of Mission Viejo, CA; three grandchildren, Britt Marie Gardner, Timothy Ryan Gardner, Jayme Lynn Gardner and great-grandson, Dylan Ryan Gardner all of Mission Viejo.
