Throughout the year, the Town of Hempstead provides residents with opportunities to enjoy many different types of entertainment, free of charge. Each summer an exciting lineup of musical talent performs at the town's neighborhood parks, hosted by the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Listed below is the schedule of the outdoor concerts taking place this summer. The shows begin at 8 p.m. and they provide a great way to beat the summer heat.
Turn back the clock and turn up the volume with the unforgettable songs of the 50s performed by the Devotions at Acorn Lane Pool, Levittown.
Enjoy the classic Blues Band sound of The Smoke Daddy's at Harold Walker Park, Lakeview.
The Mixx brings unique style and spirit to the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s at Elmont Road Park, Elmont.
The singular and signature sounds of a special decade of music with the Seventies Experience at Speno Park, East Meadow.
A little bit of Latin, a little bit of jazz and a little bit of swing with Down and Dirty at Terrace Gardens Park, Inwood.
Risky Business presents an evening of rock n' roll and rhythm n' blues at Oceanside Park, Oceanside.
*SPECIAL MATINEE CONCERT-1:00 p.m.* LI Dirty Water Dogs & Friends, the celebrated 60s group, returns to the town for a showcase of rock, folk and blues at East Meadow Town Square in Veterans Park, East Meadow.
A Musical Tribute to Benny Goodman featuring Sol Yaged at Levittown Memorial Park, Levittown.
Oracabessa brings the sounds and styles of Caribbean music to Dutch Broadway Park, Elmont.
Move and groove to great Reggae music with the Jam-X Band at Uniondale Avenue Park, Uniondale.
An encore performance by The Mixx playing songs from the 50s, 60s & 70s at Seamans Neck Park, Seaford.
Sister Act salutes legendary female singers and groups with great music and colorful costumes at Baldwin Park, Baldwin Harbor.
Remember "Jailhouse Rock" and "Hound Dog" in a tribute to Elvis with Steve Mitchell & The All Shook Up Band at Newbridge Road Park, Bellmore.
Wonderous Stories stages a "British Invasion" with music from the Beatles & The Who at Echo Park, West Hempstead.
Johnny Maestro & the Brooklyn Bridge sing classic hits such as "Sixteen Candles" at Newbridge Road Park, Bellmore.
A musical tribute to Frank Sinatra with Jerry Cardone and the Danny Vincent Orchestra at Merrick Road Park, Merrick.
